Dancing With Our Heroes was born out of a Dance Therapy Program at the Center for the Intrepid at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) in San Antonio, Texas. We all learned that dance can be an effective form of healing, physical therapy and confidence building for men, women and families.
Fred Astaire Dance Studios, through a partnership with the US Army, provided dance therapy instructors to help Wounded Warriors during their difficult and often lengthy recovery.

A Hero, as defined for our event, is any member (active or retired) of the US Armed Services, or the spouse of a military member or Veteran.
